Today, the wholly-owned Ling Kee Group he founded comprises over 30 companies operating in Hong Kong SAR, China, Canada, U.K.
Apart from being highly successful in business, Mr. Au was active in social welfare work and served as a Director of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, the largest Hong Kong benevolent organization. For eleven years he had acted as President of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, helping it to grow into the largest voluntary agency for young people in the world. He also actively engaged in a number of philanthropic activities and his Au Bak Ling Charity Trust gives bags of rice to poor families every month (600,000 catties or 300 tons a year), while also awarding scholarships annually to university students who are training to become teachers in Hong Kong SAR and China and who are leaders in their respective fields at the University of Fraser Valley and University of Guelph in Canada.
In 2023, the Au family, on behalf of Mr. Au, donated C$2 million to the Scarborough Health Network in Toronto, Canada to support their development of the Hemodialysis Unit of the Bridletowne Neighbourhood Centre.
The Au family plans to follow through with Mr. Au’s vision to continue to grow the Auguston community and sets standards of what a beautiful master-planned development should be!
